• Thanks to all the folks that emailed me to let me know they couldn’t get into the rights of marriage document.  The link for the 1324 rights of marriage is fixed now and will take you to the Government Accounting Office to THEIR .pdf file.  Sorry it took me so long.
  • Jeff Healey succumbed to the cancer that he battled his entire life (the same cancer that took his sight when he was a toddler).  The music world has lost yet another talented and compassionate person.
  • Folks did really good calling in to the NPR radio station to ask the hard questions of the County Lawyer regarding our case and the county’s decision to appeal.  The most notable comment came when, after Mr. DeLaus stated he was “…proud to do [his] job…” and a caller told him that there were lawyers that worked AGAINST the Lovings in Loving v Virginia and AGAINST Brown in Brown v Board of Education who were “…proud to do their jobs, too.”  Pretty powerful stuff.  Not ONE caller supported the county’s decision to appeal.  It was amazing!
  • It was 65 degrees today — sunny, warm, a beautiful spring-like day.  That’s the good news.  The bad news is that we are under a winter storm “watch,” with the possibility of up to a half inch of ice glazing between late tonight and early Wednesday morning.  Enough to down trees and power lines.  A half inch is a *lot* of ice on trees that are already extremely stressed from the numerous wind storms we’ve had this winter.  Now, a “snow/ice day” would be welcome, nonetheless.  Heck, I’d even forego my haircut tomorrow night for a snow day!
  • The production crew for “Be Real” (a LOGO production) will be here next week.  Should be a real experience for us.  They’re planning to spend 3 to 3.5 days following us around, filming us at home and at work, and also at another meeting for our community celebration.
  • Lisa is dog-sitting this week, so there won’t be any raunchy, wild, hedonistic nap photos.  So, y’all will have to live vicariously through someone else for the next few days.  Sorry.
  • Lisa is now 3 days into smoking cessation.  She’s been on the Chantix for about 3 weeks now and, so far, feels pretty good.  I’m so proud of her for her strength and courage through all of this.  It’s been a very stressful time for us, with all that’s happened, and she’s still very determined to get that big hairy nicotine gorilla off her back.  Keep her in your thoughts!
  • Thanks to everyone for all of your kind comments the other day on my post about my mother’s birthday.  I guess I was feeling a bit melancholy  — blogging can be cathartic just by the simple act of writing out those niggling thoughts that never really reach the forefront of your consciousness.
  • In correlation to published studies, there’s an article in the news about how Massachusetts is drawing the best and the brightest technical/professional employees — from the gay/lesbian community.  Story is here.
  • Did anyone besides me need a cold shower after Sunday nights episode of The L Word?
