A woman in Florida was jailed for NINE DAYS because of a clerical error. Her name was the same as the person on the warrant but, somehow, a mixup occurred and this woman was arrested, then thrown into general population with the rest of the inmates without appearing before a judge, without a phone call, and seemingly without legal representation.
Her boyfriend spent several days trying to prove to the sheriff’s department that they had the wrong person.
After all was said and done, the mistake realized, the woman released, the sheriff’s department offered to pay any expenses she might have incurred.
Besides losing probably a week’s worth of work, what expenses might she have incurred while being abused in jail?
I smell a lawsuit coming on — and I hope she wins…

Do you own, or are you thinking about starting a small business? Great! But take some unsolicited advice. DON’T GO THROUGH QUICKBOOKS MERCHANT SERVICES if you plan to accept credit cards. This has been a year-long nightmare for me and, after having had it up to here…(well, you know what I mean)…I went to cancel today only to run into yet MORE of the customer service reps hanging up on me and providing me with bad information.
Save yourself the ulcer — avoid Quickbooks Merchant Services at all costs. (Pardon the pun)
