In a heartbeat, I’d vote yes on this measure!
SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) — A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush’s years in office by slapping his name on a San Francisco sewage plant has qualified for the November ballot.
The measure certified Thursday would rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.
Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind by actions such as the war in Iraq.
Local Republicans say the plan stinks and they will oppose it.
In a heartbeat, this retired soldier would call this OUTRAGEOUS AND CRUEL and call for an end to it NOW!
HONOLULU (AP) — The Army says it’s critical to saving the lives of wounded soldiers. Animal-rights activists call the training cruel and outdated.
Despite opposition by the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals, the Army is moving forward with its plan to shoot live pigs and treat their gunshot wounds in a medical trauma exercise Friday at Schofield Barracks for soldiers headed to Iraq.
Pride parade is tomorrow and the picnic is Sunday. The weather is looking a bit “iffy” but we’ll manage…somehow. Keep your fingers crossed that the weather holds out at least for the parade. We can negotiate the picnic in inclement weather far better!

I read about the pigs this morning – while I see both sides of it – I still think it cruel.
I hadn’t heard about the sewage plant thing…
